The Ministry of Education announced on July 10, 2025, that it had immediately requested an investigation from the National Police Agency regarding an online post that threatened retaliation against medical students and residents who did not participate in collective action and have since returned.
According to media reports, a user, presumed to be a medical student, posted a message in an online community exclusive to medical students and doctors, threatening retaliation and using abusive language against returning medical students and residents. The post also included threats to exclude returning residents from their cohorts.
The Ministry of Education stated, "Because the post directly threatens the lives and physical safety of an unspecified number of medical students and residents who did not participate in collective action, and warns of disadvantages in their studies and work, we have promptly requested an investigation." The ministry added, "We will respond firmly, including requesting police investigations, to any acts that infringe on the right to learn, which is a fundamental right guaranteed by the Constitution."
