Kyungpook National University (President: Heo Youngwoo) will hold a project briefing session for the 'Daegu-Type R&D Full-Cycle Support System Establishment Project,' which is part of the RISE (Regional Innovation System for Education) initiative, and will begin full-scale implementation of the project.
The 'Daegu-Type R&D Full-Cycle Support System Establishment Project' is one of 16 tasks under the RISE initiative led by Kyungpook National University, and will be exclusively operated by the (tentatively named) Kyungpook National University Industry-Academia-Research Collaboration Technology Institute, which is currently being established.
This project aims to build an industry-academia-research R&D collaboration system to foster the growth of local companies and secure new growth engines. It seeks to create a virtuous cycle of technology transfer and talent recruitment by utilizing the university's assets.
Through this project, Kyungpook National University plans to support a total of 162 companies by implementing three detailed programs: performance-sharing collaborative R&D support, support for market-leading productization based on industry-academia-research collaboration, and operation of R&D collaboration governance.
The project briefing session will be held on July 16 for companies related to the region's five major future industries and universities participating in the RISE initiative.
The sessions will take place at the Kyungpook National University 3D Convergence Technology Support Center in Dong-gu Innovation City and at the Daegu Sports Industry Support Center in Alpha City, Suseong-gu. The sessions will cover participation methods and project details for each task, as well as guidance on preparing and submitting project proposals. Project announcements and participation applications can be found at the Kyungpook National University Industry-Academia-Research Collaboration Technology Institute.
Separately, Kyungpook National University is currently recruiting a pool of industry-academia-research experts to evaluate and advise on project proposals in order to enhance the quality of the project.
The expert pool will be organized into evaluation committees, planning committees, and seminar advisory groups, and will participate in various forums aimed at advancing the Daegu-Type R&D collaboration paradigm.
Kim Hyundeok, Director of the Kyungpook National University Industry-Academia-Research Collaboration Technology Institute, stated, "Recently, universities have been strengthening their social roles by contributing to the development of national strategic industries and regional specialized industries through innovative knowledge convergence and commercialization. At a time when it is necessary to revitalize university-industry-research R&D and commercialize public technologies, Kyungpook National University will play a key role in leading the region as the center of university-industry-research governance."
