Agreement Signed for 'Industrial-Commissioned Education' to Enhance Staff Competence

The Sejong City Office of Education announced on July 10 that it had signed an industrial-commissioned education agreement with four domestic cyber universities on July 9. The universities involved in the agreement are Kyung Hee Cyber University, Korea Cyber University, Seoul Cyber University, and Hanyang Cyber University.

This agreement was pursued to foster an organizational culture where staff members can balance work and study, in response to the rapidly changing educational environment and the increasing demand for enhanced professionalism and autonomy among staff. By linking with domestic universities and graduate schools, the industrial-commissioned education agreement aims to expand retraining opportunities for staff and provide diverse learning pathways.

Under the agreement, staff members of the Office of Education who are admitted to the partner universities through the special industrial-commissioned admissions process (either as freshmen or transfer students) are eligible for reduced application fees and a 50% tuition scholarship for undergraduate programs.

For graduate programs, a portion of the tuition fee is also reduced upon admission. Specifically, Seoul Cyber University and Hanyang Cyber University offer a 30% tuition scholarship, while Kyung Hee Cyber University and Korea Cyber University provide a 20% tuition scholarship.

Notably, this initiative was established last year as part of reforms to the local civil servant personnel system, ensuring that all staff members of the Office of Education, including local civil servants, are eligible for these benefits.

An official from the Office of Education stated, "We will continue to establish various institutional foundations to support the self-directed growth and lifelong learning of our staff."
