Gyeonggi Province has actively communicated with residents through the "SNS Communication and Civil Complaint Window" during the 8th elected term.
On July 10, Gyeonggi Province announced that it had faithfully responded to a total of 2,031 comment-type civil complaints over 1,096 days, from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2025, through the operation of the "SNS Communication and Civil Complaint Window," a key pledge project.
The SNS Communication and Civil Complaint Window is a participatory communication system in which any resident of Gyeonggi Province can leave policy-related questions as comments on the province's official Facebook, Instagram, blog, and other social media channels. Relevant staff then promptly check and reply to these inquiries.
Through this window, residents shared a variety of opinions on daily life-related areas such as transportation (418 cases, 20.6%), culture, sports, and tourism (318 cases, 15.7%), communication and participation (166 cases, 8.2%), economy, jobs, and livelihoods (130 cases, 6.4%), and welfare and care (130 cases, 6.4%).
In particular, by keyword, there were many inquiries about policies with high public interest, including "The Gyeonggi Pass" (257 cases, 12.6%), "Gyeonggi Tour Pass" (110 cases, 5.4%), "Opportunity Reporters" (58 cases, 2.9%), "Labor Standards Act" (57 cases, 2.8%), and "Matsontalk" (42 cases, 2.1%).
Status of SNS Communication and Civil Complaint Window Operation in Gyeonggi Province during the 8th Elected Term
More than 20% of all civil complaints focused on transportation, while inquiries about "The Gyeonggi Pass" and "Gyeonggi Tour Pass" accounted for the majority among individual projects.
Gyeonggi Province explained that the SNS Communication and Civil Complaint Window goes beyond simply responding to inquiries. It helps resolve misunderstandings about policies, expands public consensus, and increases policy acceptance among residents.
Accordingly, as the 8th elected term marks its third year, the province expects that such ongoing communication will play a key role in building trust in provincial administration, encouraging resident participation, and especially improving policy accessibility for the MZ generation, who are familiar with the SNS environment.
Kim Wonmyung, Director of Public Relations Planning for Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Responding to questions about provincial administration quickly and sincerely is the starting point for policy trust. We will continue to actively reflect residents' voices through the SNS Communication and Civil Complaint Window and further strengthen two-way communication that fosters empathy and participation."
