A 38-story mixed-use facility will be constructed on the site of the Orion headquarters near Samgakji Station in Munbae-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

On July 10, Seoul City announced that it had convened the 12th Urban and Architectural Joint Committee and approved, with amendments, the "District Unit Plan Decision (Draft) for the 30-10 Munbae-dong Area, Yongsan-gu" related to the Samgakji Station area revitalization project. After completing the necessary administrative procedures, construction is scheduled to begin in the second half of next year, with completion targeted for 2029.

Under this decision, a mixed-use complex will be built on the site, consisting of a five-story basement and 38 above-ground floors. The facility will include 212 officetel units, 156 residential apartments, office spaces, neighborhood living facilities, and a public sports facility (multipurpose gymnasium). In particular, a public sports facility with a total floor area of 4,000 square meters will be established to address the shortage of sports spaces in Yongsan-gu.

Additionally, a new road will be constructed on the southern side of the site to secure vehicle circulation, and an elevated pedestrian bridge connected to the Samgakji overpass will be built to significantly improve the pedestrian environment.

The site is located near Samgakji Station on subway lines 4 and 6 and has been used as the headquarters site for Orion. After Orion decided to relocate its headquarters to Dogok-dong, Gangnam-gu, the area was considered for a station area revitalization project. Given that this area is expected to undergo changes, including the electronics market and the international business district, the city plans to improve the pedestrian environment around Samgakji Station and develop the area as a mixed-use hub for business, commerce, and residential functions to promote regional development.

A city official stated, "By introducing mixed-use functions for business, commerce, and residential purposes through the Samgakji Station area revitalization project, we expect to invigorate the local community. The construction of a new road and the improvement of the pedestrian environment connected to the Samgakji overpass will not only enhance convenience for residents but also greatly contribute to establishing a pedestrian network in the station area."
