This training was organized by the Seo-gu Children's and Social Welfare Meal Management Support Center (headed by Heo Youngran, hereafter referred to as Seo-gu Center).

Im Soyoung, team leader at the Seo-gu Center, served as the instructor and explained the following topics: the main causes of food poisoning and prevention methods; the characteristics of norovirus and response strategies; and guidelines for hygienic ingredient management and maintaining a sanitary kitchen environment.

In particular, the session compared real-life examples of hygienic and unhygienic management through actual photographs, and included interactive quizzes to enhance the cooks' understanding and ability to apply the knowledge in the field.

One of the cooks who participated in the training said, "Kitchen hygiene management always felt vague to me, but the real-life examples and explanations made it much more accessible. It was a valuable session that I can immediately apply in my workplace."

Heo Youngran, head of the center, stated, "I expect this training will greatly help prevent food poisoning by enhancing the hygiene management capabilities of cooks. We will continue to provide customized hygiene education and a variety of support programs in the future."

Kim Ikang, head of Seo-gu District Office, said, "Seo-gu's top ranking in the national children's dietary safety index evaluation is thanks to the hard work and dedication of all the cooks. I ask for your continued support so that Seo-gu can remain firmly established as the leading city in meal management."

Meanwhile, the Seo-gu Center manages 257 cafeterias at daycare centers and kindergartens in the district. In the 2023 evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, Seo-gu was selected as the top local government nationwide, and the center was also recognized as one of only six institutions to receive the Ministry's Excellence Award out of 236 meal management support centers across the country.
