This agreement was established under the slogan "Hyundai-Steel One Safety," with the aim of strengthening workplace safety during the summer heat and creating a healthy working environment. The participating companies signed an agreement that includes the following main points: establishing a sense of joint responsibility and a safety culture, identifying and improving risk factors and complying with work procedures, and practicing basic safety discipline. Seo Kanghyun, CEO of Hyundai Steel, emphasized, "The steel industry involves many high-risk tasks that deal with heavy materials and high-temperature, high-pressure substances," and stated, "It is especially important for leaders to take the initiative by directly inspecting worksites and improving risk factors to prevent heat-related illnesses among employees during the summer."
Immediately after the signing ceremony, a meeting was held, presided over by Ko Heungseok, Head of the Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Division, to discuss measures for coping with the summer heat and fostering a voluntary safety culture. Lee Myunggu, CEO of Hyundai ITC, said, "We expect that this agreement will further strengthen our cooperative safety and health system," and added, "We will continue to work with Hyundai Steel to prevent accidents and promote a culture of safety." Hyundai Steel plans to make every effort to respond to heat waves and prevent heat-related illnesses among employees during the summer, based on cooperation with its subsidiaries and partner companies.
