The police have launched an investigation after a series of threatening posts targeting Park Chan-dae, a candidate for the leadership of the Democratic Party of Korea, appeared online.
On July 9, the Seoul Seongdong Police Station announced that they had received a report regarding threatening messages directed at Representative Park and are currently tracking down the author of the posts.
According to reports, multiple posts contained statements such as, "I'm coming up to Seoul now with a gun and a knife. I will go to Park Chan-dae's house."
The police have strengthened security measures at Representative Park's residence and office in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, and are also considering personal protection measures for him.
However, as of now, it has been determined that there has been no direct threat to Representative Park.
