The county expects that the opening of this camping site will not only attract attention as a healing travel destination for those traveling with pets, but also further accelerate its progress toward becoming a hub for the pet industry.

The camping site, located within the Osu Uigyeon Tourist Site?well known since 1973 as the hometown of the loyal dog that saved its owner and featured in elementary school textbooks?was established with the full support of North Jeolla Special Self-Governing Province.

This site is expected to become a core infrastructure for the vitalization of local tourism and the pet industry, alongside other pet-related facilities in the Osu Uigyeon Tourist Site area.

Each campsite is equipped with a fence, deck, and roof as standard, and a variety of facilities have been prepared, including a dedicated walking trail and playground for pets, a dog shower facility, and caravan sites, ensuring that visitors can safely relax with their pets.

In particular, the 22 decks, each measuring 10m by 9m, are spacious enough to accommodate large tents, and have been carefully designed to provide convenience and safety for both families and pet owners.

The Osu Uigyeon National Leisure Camping Site serves not only as a simple resting space, but also as a stay-type tourism infrastructure linked with the Osu Uigyeon Tourist Site and Osu Pet Memorial Park, acting as a catalyst for revitalizing the local economy. By incorporating emotional keywords such as 'memory' and 'companionship' into pet tourism, Imsil is opening up new possibilities as a pet-friendly tourism city.

In addition, the county is accelerating the 18 billion won World Famous Dog Theme Land project, which will create a pet-friendly complex tourism space where visitors can experience, view exhibitions, shop, and stay with their pets.

The World Famous Dog Theme Land will be established as a global dog experience center, where visitors can interact with famous dog breeds from over 100 countries, and the project is proceeding as planned. Another key facility is the Osu Banryeonuri Pet Support Center, which was completed to promote interaction between people and pets and to vitalize pet culture. This center offers customized educational programs, such as training for pet groomers and caretakers, utilizing its exhibition and education spaces.

Special event programs linked with the camping site are also being thoroughly prepared, contributing to the area's emergence as a leading destination for pet culture in Korea. From September, a large number of tourists are expected to visit.

County Governor Shim Min said, "Osu is the hometown of the legendary loyal dog Uigyeon and the center of the pet industry, which the county is intensively fostering as a future industry. Going forward, through an integrated strategy that combines the pet industry, tourism, culture, and education, we will make Osu-myeon in Imsil County a prominent destination representing Korea for pet lovers."

The Osu Uigyeon National Leisure Camping Site is an eco-friendly camping ground where visitors can enjoy nature with their pets. Reservations can be conveniently made through Naver, and for reservations or inquiries, please call the main contact number.
