On July 9, Korea Post announced that due to the ongoing heatwave across the country, mail delivery in some regions may be delayed and asked for public understanding.

These delivery delays may occur because mail carriers and contracted parcel delivery workers are strongly encouraged to use self-diagnosis for heat-related illnesses and to take breaks during the daytime hours (from noon to 4 p.m.) in consideration of their health and safety.
Korea Post also explained that, to ensure the safety of its workers, if the heatwave continues, mail delivery operations may be suspended and the delivery schedules of mail carriers and contracted parcel delivery workers may be adjusted. In such cases, urgent and time-sensitive mail will be prioritized for delivery.
If delivery is delayed, local post offices will promptly notify customers of the situation via text message (SMS) or other means.
The status of registered mail and parcels, including transportation and delivery updates, can also be checked in real time on the Korea Post website, the Internet Post Office, and the Post Office mobile app.
Cho Haekeun, Director General of Korea Post, said, "We kindly ask for your understanding that mail delivery in some regions may be delayed due to the severe heatwave," and added, "Korea Post will do its utmost to protect the health and safety of delivery workers while minimizing inconvenience to customers."
