Young Football Talents from Korea and Abroad Gather in Yeongdeok!

'GROUND.N K League U12 & U11 Championship'
To Be Held at Shintaeyong Football Park in Yeongdeok County from July 11 to 17

The "2025 GROUND.N K League U12&U11 Championship," a fierce competition among future K League stars, will take place over seven days from July 11 to July 17, 2025, at the natural grass and artificial turf fields of Shintaeyong Football Park in Yeongdeok County.

This tournament, held to broaden the base of youth football and promote regional sports development, is co-hosted by the Korea Professional Football League and the Korea Football Association. The event is co-organized by the Korea Professional Football League, the Gyeongbuk Football Association, the Yeongdeok County Sports Council, and the Yeongdeok County Football Association, with support from Yeongdeok County and Nexon.

This year’s tournament will feature a record-breaking scale, with 51 youth teams under the K League?serving as the core of domestic youth football?and four invited teams from Japan, bringing together a total of over 2,000 participants. The event is expected to provide a valuable platform for young players to develop and showcase their skills.

A total of 30 teams will compete in the U12 category, including four invited teams from Japan, creating an opportunity for international exchange. In the U11 category, 25 teams will participate, with matches conducted in a full league format.

Yeongdeok County has made thorough preparations to ensure smooth operation and management of the tournament, aiming not only to invigorate the local economy through this largest-ever event, but also to widely promote the county’s sports infrastructure and tourism resources to participants visiting from across the country.

In particular, all matches will be held at night during the period of intense heat, providing a safe playing environment that minimizes physical exhaustion and allows the athletes to perform at their best.

The sports facilities in Yeongdeok County, centered around Shintaeyong Football Park, have already proven themselves by hosting various national-level tournaments, demonstrating their high standards. This event is expected to further solidify their reputation.

County Governor Kim Kwangyeol stated, "I hope this tournament will offer young footballers from across the nation a valuable opportunity to gain experience and grow in Yeongdeok. We will continue to attract sports events that can enhance the county’s status and brand value, laying the foundation for Yeongdeok to take another step toward becoming an international sports city."
