Supporting Korean Companies' Overseas Expansion
Through a Payment Network Covering 174 Countries
NHN KCP, a comprehensive payment solutions provider, announced on July 9 that it has signed a merchant referral agreement with Worldpay, a global leader in payment technology.
A merchant referral agreement is a partnership in which a domestic payment gateway supports local merchants in connecting with global payment companies, enabling them to use payment services abroad.
With this agreement, NHN KCP merchants can enter into a direct contract with Worldpay after expanding overseas and receive end-to-end support, from local payment integration to operations. They can also settle in their preferred currency, such as Korean won or US dollars, which reduces the burden of currency exchange and settlement.
Through this collaboration, NHN KCP merchants will have access to value-added services such as transaction data analysis reports and chargeback analysis reports provided by Worldpay. As a result, when domestic merchants expand into overseas markets, they will be able to utilize Worldpay's local payment data.
Worldpay is a global leader in payment technology, providing payment services in 174 countries. It offers payment and settlement services for global card brands such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and JCB, as well as for digital wallets like Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Samsung Pay. Settlements are supported in 135 currencies with real-time exchange rates. Worldpay also provides customized payment services for each merchant, from payment integration to launch.
No Jaeuk, Executive Vice President of NHN KCP's Payment Gateway (PG) Division, stated, "Our collaboration with Worldpay will serve as a solid foundation for domestic merchants to enter new overseas markets." He added, "We will continue to pursue a variety of initiatives to support the growth of both domestic and international merchants, together with NHN KCP PTE LTD, our Singapore subsidiary."
