Promoting Awareness with Real-Time Alerts
'Caution' for 3 Vibrations in 10 Seconds, 'Warning' for 6
D-Silence Proven at Yeoncheon Wellsheim, Now Expanding to Seoul
DL E&C is set to expand the application of its 'D-Silence Service,' the first inter-floor noise alert system developed in Korea, to the broader market. On July 9, DL E&C announced, "Building on the success of pilot complexes where resident satisfaction was high, we plan to expand the service to premium residential areas in the future."
The 'D-Silence Service' is a system that installs sensors detecting floor vibrations on living room and pantry walls, and sends real-time alerts to the wall pad when noise exceeding the Ministry of Environment's standard (39dB(A)) occurs. If vibrations are detected three or more times within 10 seconds, a 'caution' alert is triggered; if six or more times, a 'warning' alert is sent.
This technology goes beyond simple monitoring by providing real-time warnings, enabling upstairs residents to become aware of noise issues without direct communication. It has gained word-of-mouth popularity as it allows downstairs residents to resolve issues without emotional conflict. After its first implementation in 2023 at 'ePyeonhansesang Yeoncheon Wellsheim' in Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province, more than 80% of residents surveyed responded that they would continue using the service. Satisfaction was particularly high among households with young children.
DL E&C will apply this service to premium brand complexes such as 'Acro Hannam,' which was awarded in May this year, and 'Acro de Seocho,' scheduled for sale next month. The company also plans to introduce the system in major upcoming reconstruction projects in Seongsu, Apgujeong, Yeouido, and Mokdong.
A company representative stated, "Inter-floor noise is a sensitive issue that can spark conflicts and can also serve as a differentiating factor for residential brands. As a system that actually helps resolve noise disputes, we expect consumer response to spread rapidly."
