Reward Service for Products from 151 Fashion Brands
To Be Introduced from July 11, Provided in L.POINTs
Collected Items to Be Cleaned and Resold in the Secondhand Market
"Expecting the Spread of a Sustainable Consumption Culture"
On July 9, Lotte Department Store announced that it will officially launch the 'Green Reward Service' on July 11, which allows customers to exchange used fashion items for L.POINTs.
The service covers products from a total of 151 different fashion brands, ranging from contemporary labels such as 'Juun.J' and 'Theory', to golf and sports brands like 'Titleist' and 'Arc'teryx', as well as designer brands favored by the MZ generation (Millennials and Generation Z) such as 'Jiyongkim', 'Post Archive Faction', and 'Amomento'.
The Green Reward Service can be accessed through the Lotte Department Store application. By entering information about the used item and registering a pickup address in the Green Reward Service tab within the app, a courier will visit to collect the item. Collected items undergo a thorough inspection based on criteria such as year of manufacture, contamination, and damage. As of this year, only items manufactured from 2019 onwards are eligible for application.
The reward is provided in L.POINTs, ranging from a minimum of 5,000 won to a maximum of 280,000 won. The compensation criteria vary depending on the brand and item. Higher rewards are set for high-value items, such as outerwear from overseas brands. The entire process, from collection and inspection to point payment, is expected to take about one week. The collected items will be cleaned and refurbished, then resold in the secondhand market through the resale specialist company 'Madeleine Memory'.
Lotte Department Store expects that this service, developed in collaboration with Lotte Members, the operator of L.POINT, will establish itself as a new model of practice for sustainable consumption.
Park Sungchul, Head of External Cooperation at Lotte Department Store, stated, "The Green Reward Service is more than just a reward program; it will become the starting point for circular consumption created together with our customers," adding, "We will continue to lead the spread of a virtuous cycle of resources in the distribution industry and take the initiative in establishing sustainable consumption practices."
