LS Cable & System and LS Marine Secure Record 255 Billion Won Anma Offshore Wind Power Submarine Cable Contract

LS Marine secures major contract worth 72% of last year’s sales
532 MW-class complex... Annual production of 1,400 GWh, supplying power to 1.4 million people
Construction to begin in 2027... Dedicated cable-laying vessel GL2030 to be deployed
Largest installation contract for a single offshore wind power project to date

LS Cable & System and LS Marine Solution have signed a contract worth a total of 255 billion won to supply and install submarine cables for the Anma Offshore Wind Power Project, which is being developed near Anmado Island in Yeonggwang-gun, South Jeolla Province.

On July 8, LS Cable & System announced that it had signed a contract worth 161 billion won with Anma Offshore Wind Power, while LS Marine Solution secured a separate contract worth 94 billion won. Among these, the contract amount for LS Marine Solution is equivalent to 72.15% of its sales from the previous year.

Anma Offshore Wind Power is the second domestic offshore wind power project in which LS Marine Solution is participating, following the Jeonnam Offshore Wind Power Phase 1 project. It is also the largest installation contract for a single offshore wind power project to date.

This project will be developed with a total capacity of 532 megawatts (MW) in waters approximately 40 kilometers west of Anmado Island, covering a total area of 83.9 million square meters. Once completed, it will be able to produce 1,400 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity annually, which is enough to supply about 380,000 households (1.4 million people) for one year.

LS Marine Solution will be responsible for installing the submarine cables connecting the wind farm to the mainland, and plans to begin full-scale construction in 2027. The specialized cable-laying vessel 'GL2030,' which is currently being converted to an 8,000-ton class ship, is expected to be deployed for this installation.

The GL2030 is known as a strategic vessel optimized for the shallow and fast-current waters of the West Sea, ensuring both construction stability and operational efficiency.

LS Marine Solution has also recently won successive contracts for offshore wind power installation from Taiwan Power Company, as well as submarine communication network construction projects for companies such as Microsoft and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
