Head of Domestic Equities and Derivatives Business
Jieun Park has been newly appointed as Head of Equities at the Goldman Sachs Seoul Branch.
On July 8, Goldman Sachs announced this personnel appointment.
Park joined Goldman Sachs' Asia-Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong as a division head in 2018. Later that year, she transferred to the Seoul Branch and was promoted to managing director in 2021. She led the business providing equity-based derivatives to domestic institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds, and pension funds.
Before joining Goldman Sachs, Park built her expertise in derivatives while working at several global investment banks based in Hong Kong. She earned a bachelor's degree in economics and mathematics from Columbia University in the United States in 2010, and a master's degree in financial mathematics from New York University in 2011.
Going forward, Park will oversee the domestic equities and equity-based derivatives business. She will collaborate with the Asia-Pacific equities business leadership team and work closely with Jaejun Choi, Co-Head of Korea and Head of Securities at Goldman Sachs.
Choi stated, "The appointment of Jieun Park as managing director is an important milestone that demonstrates Goldman Sachs' view of Korea as a core market for its Asia-Pacific equities business. We expect Park to leverage her outstanding expertise and leadership in equities trading and equity-based derivatives to deliver innovative, customized solutions to clients and create new business opportunities."
