Large-Scale Showcase of Local Problem-Solving Software Achievements
Industry-Academia Collaboration Vlog to Be Documented
Dong-A University (President Lee Haeu) will participate in 'K-ICT WEEK in BUSAN 2025,' hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and Busan Metropolitan City, to promote its Software (SW)-Oriented University Program and to exhibit capstone projects created by its students.
This exhibition will be held from July 15 to July 17, 2025, at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1. It is a large-scale ICT industry event that intensively showcases future industrial technologies such as AI, cloud, and smart IT. The event is co-organized by related institutions including the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA).
At this exhibition, Dong-A University will operate two booths: ▲ a 'SW-Oriented University Program Promotion Booth' and ▲ a 'Student Capstone Project Exhibition Booth.' Through these booths, the university aims to share the achievements of the government-supported SW-Oriented University Program and to spread examples of collaboration with local communities and industries.
Two local problem-solving projects, developed in cooperation with Saha-gu Office of Busan, and two industry-academia collaboration projects were selected for the exhibition. Practical software based on real-life applications, such as a vehicle license plate recognition (OCR) program and a Markdown-to-HWP automatic converter, will be demonstrated to key visitors.
Major projects to be exhibited include: ▲ Vehicle License Plate OCR Program (Kim Suyeon and four others), ▲ Markdown File Automatic Converter 'mdToHwp' (Heo Sejin and four others), ▲ Ai3D Forge (Park Sungjun and three others), and ▲ Website Carbon Measurement and Sustainability Evaluation Platform (Ko Byungsu and two others).
These projects will be evaluated for both practicality and creativity through real-time interaction and demonstrations with visitors at the event. The students will produce a vlog documenting the entire booth operation process and share it externally through the official YouTube channel 'Dong-A University Success Zone' and Instagram.
Lee Seokhwan, Head of the SW Innovation Center at Dong-A University, stated, "It is highly meaningful that students' projects are being showcased not only within the university but also in front of industry professionals and visitors. Regional collaboration projects serve as excellent examples of nurturing creative talent based on local-industry-academia cooperation."
Through this event, Dong-A University plans to enhance the external recognition of its SW-Oriented University Program and to use the opportunity as a platform to directly promote students' practical collaboration skills to companies and public institutions.
