Governor Jin Byungyoung of Hamyang Holds Meeting with Stay-Type Agricultural Startup Support Center Trainees

Exploring Directions for the Development of Return-to-Farm and Return-to-Village Policies in Hamyang County

Jin Byungyoung, Governor of Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province, organized a meeting to listen directly to the voices of return-to-farm and return-to-village residents and to explore policy directions aimed at revitalizing local settlement.


According to the county, on the afternoon of July 7, Governor Jin held a meeting with the 8th class of residents at the Stay-Type Agricultural Startup Support Center's education hall. During the meeting, he listened to a variety of suggestions, difficulties, and opinions regarding the development of Hamyang County's return-to-farm and return-to-village policies.

The meeting was attended by officials from departments related to population and agriculture, including the Director of Economic Welfare and the Director of the Agricultural Technology Center. They shared the current status of the Stay-Type Agricultural Startup Support Center's operations and engaged in practical communication to promote the revitalization of settlement for return-to-farm and return-to-village residents.


In particular, the 8th class of residents actively asked various questions about Hamyang County, including inquiries about early settlement and future farming activities. The session featured a lively exchange of opinions that lasted for about 50 minutes.


Governor Jin Byungyoung stated, "We will strive to reflect the voices of return-to-farm and return-to-village residents in our policies so that their transition to Hamyang County can be successful and fulfilling." He added, "With 77% of our county consisting of mountainous areas, there are opportunities not only in agriculture but also in forestry, mountain village life, and income generation through diverse forest resources. Meanwhile, the Hamyang County Stay-Type Agricultural Startup Support Center provides hands-on residential spaces, as well as education in farming and agricultural entrepreneurship for those wishing to return to farming or rural life, thereby supporting their stable settlement in rural areas.
