A man in his 20s has been arrested after attacking his mother with a weapon at the hair salon she operates, leaving her seriously injured.
On July 7, the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency announced that they had detained a man in his 20s, identified as A, on charges including attempted parricide.
A is accused of stabbing his mother, identified as B, multiple times with a weapon at a hair salon in Seongsan-gu, Changwon, Gyeongnam Province, around noon on July 5.
He is also suspected of injuring two customers who were present in the salon by wielding the weapon at them.
The salon in question is operated by B and was open for business at the time of the incident.
B sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment, but her life is not in danger, according to reports.
It has been revealed that A committed the crime out of resentment, believing that his mother regularly belittled him.
The police plan to continue investigating A to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
