Inauguration Ceremony Held at CBS Mokdong Headquarters on July 7
Will Serve as Foundation Chairman for Two Years
The inauguration ceremony for Kangsuk So, the 33rd chairman of the CBS Foundation, was held on the morning of July 7 at the CBS headquarters in Mokdong, Seoul. The term of office for the foundation chairman is two years.

In his inaugural address, Chairman Kangsuk So stated, "CBS has been a broadcaster that has not yielded to any military dictatorship and has led the way in delivering swift and fair news." He went on to express his aspirations, saying, "Going forward, I will strive to ensure that God's word reaches more people through news, current affairs, culture, and music programs."
He further emphasized, "CBS will become a broadcaster that pursues the life of Jesus Christ and the value of the gospel, transcending both progressive and conservative lines."
Na Iyoung, president of CBS, remarked, "Chairman Kangsuk So's leadership will play a crucial role in helping CBS lead Korean society toward healthy integration and in ensuring that CBS drives the health of the Korean church."
Yook Soonjong, former chairman of the 32nd Foundation Board, expressed his gratitude, saying, "I extend my deepest thanks to the board members, management, and all members of CBS who have shared their wisdom and hearts together."
The inauguration ceremony was attended by former CBS chairmen, including Pastor Jeon Byunggeum, as well as key leaders and executives from major Korean church denominations, such as Kim Younggeol, president of the Presbyterian Church of Korea (Tonghap).
From the political sector, Lee Guyoun, Senior Secretary for Public Relations and Communication, attended on behalf of President Lee Jaemyung. Also present were Choi Minhee, chair of the National Assembly's Science, ICT, Broadcasting, and Communications Committee; Kim Hyun, Democratic Party secretary for the committee; Lee Eonju, Democratic Party supreme council member; and Park Jiweon, along with lawmakers from the People Power Party, including Sung Iljong and Cho Baesook, who offered their congratulations.
Lee Guyoun, who delivered a message on behalf of President Lee Jaemyung, said, "I hope that CBS, which has fulfilled its mission of truthful reporting without succumbing to dictatorship and has led the way in restoring democracy, will make even greater strides." Choi Minhee of the Democratic Party expressed her gratitude to CBS, saying, "Without Christianity and CBS, we would not have been able to endure difficult times."
Pastor Jeon Byunggeum, former senior pastor of Gangnam Church and the 25th chairman of the CBS Foundation, urged in his sermon, "I ask that CBS, together with the Korean church, pay attention to the poor, the sick, and the marginalized," and added, "Please work to create a society of unity and harmony."
Kim Jongsaeng, general secretary of the National Council of Churches in Korea, encouraged, "CBS faces internal and external challenges such as platform innovation and content differentiation," and emphasized, "At this time, it is necessary to embrace the spirit of bridging the church and society in order to be trusted as a media outlet." Kim Younggeol, president of the Presbyterian Church of Korea (Tonghap), stated, "I will always cooperate with CBS and Chairman Kangsuk So's ministry with a prayerful heart."
Pastor Kangsuk So, who currently serves as the senior pastor of Saeeden Church, has previously served as president of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Korea (Hapdong) and as president of the United Christian Churches of Korea, and continues to serve as senior pastor of Saeeden Church.
