The Credit Counseling and Recovery Service will begin offering a consulting support program for small business owners currently participating in its debt adjustment program, starting July 7, 2025.
The consulting support program will be operated in two separate tracks: customized consulting and comprehensive support for improving business environments.
Customized consulting will be provided to small business owners who wish to continue operating their businesses, offering management stability consulting on topics such as business feasibility analysis, improvement of business operations, and SNS marketing strategies. For those who have already closed their businesses or wish to do so, business closure consulting will be offered, covering issues such as disposal of equipment, tax filing, and methods for transferring business premises.
The comprehensive business environment improvement support is a step-by-step program for vulnerable small business owners, such as single mothers or those supporting multiple children, ranging from preliminary diagnosis to the provision of environmental improvement grants. Selected participants, chosen through a three-stage screening process, will receive a preliminary diagnosis, group training, and one-on-one consulting. For necessary improvements such as store interior renovations or signboard replacements, partial financial support will also be provided.
The Credit Counseling and Recovery Service explained that, in addition to debt adjustment, this program was established to support business stability, facilitate business transitions, and encourage the voluntary dispersion of small business owners in oversupplied sectors. The consulting will first be offered to small business owners operating in Seoul and the greater metropolitan area.
Chairman Lee Jaeyeon stated, "As there have been insufficient programs for small business owners, we intend to operate this consulting support program in a thorough manner so that it can provide substantial help to small business owners undergoing debt adjustment."
