Mirae Asset Park Hyeon Joo Foundation Holds Mirae Asset Overseas Exchange Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony

Mirae Asset Park Hyeon Joo Foundation announced on July 7 that it held the "33rd Mirae Asset Overseas Exchange Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony."

The event took place on July 3 at the FKI Tower Conference Center in Yeouido, with more than 240 students selected as the 33rd cohort of scholarship recipients in attendance. The ceremony included the awarding of scholarship certificates and provided an opportunity for students preparing for overseas dispatch to connect and network.

The overseas exchange scholarship program, operated under Mirae Asset's management philosophy of "looking to the future with an open mind and valuing talent," is one of the foundation's flagship talent development initiatives. Since its launch in 2007, it has provided a total of 7,687 university students from 50 countries with opportunities to broaden their academic, linguistic, and cultural horizons through exchange experiences at prestigious universities around the world. The United States (31%), Germany (14%), and China (8%) are noted as the main dispatch destinations.

Scholarship recipients were selected through a document screening and an online interview process, with a focus on university students who demonstrated clear goals to deepen their academic majors and career paths through studies and experiences on the global stage. Depending on the region, students receive scholarships of 7.5 million KRW for those dispatched to the Americas and Europe, and 5.5 million KRW for those going to Asia.

Lim Jaemin, a KAIST student from the 33rd cohort who is preparing to go to the Netherlands, said, "I hope to clarify my career path as a future aerospace engineer through advanced aerospace engineering classes and practical experience in Europe."

The award ceremony also featured a variety of networking programs to encourage and facilitate information sharing among students preparing for dispatch. It was a meaningful occasion where students could hear firsthand experiences and valuable advice about local life and academics from senior scholarship recipients who had completed exchanges in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

Jang Yongseong, Director of Mirae Asset Park Hyeon Joo Foundation, remarked, "Overseas dispatch is a great opportunity to broaden your perspective by interacting with diverse people, reflecting on your studies, career, and future life. I hope you will develop a global outlook and share the insights and positive influence you gain with those around you and society at large."

In May, Mirae Asset Park Hyeon Joo Foundation was recognized for the achievements of its overseas exchange scholarship program by receiving the "Youth Support and Academic Education" award at the 2025 Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry?Forbes Korea Social Contribution Awards. The foundation continues to provide ongoing and practical support to help Korean university students enhance their competitiveness in the global environment.
