Supreme Court Launches First Recruitment of Dedicated Public Defenders for Appellate Cases

Three Appointed for the First Time This Year,
Two-Year Term

The Supreme Court announced on July 7 that it has selected, for the first time this year, dedicated public defenders who will be responsible for handling appellate public defense cases, and plans to gradually increase the number of such positions starting next year.

This year, three individuals will be selected, and their term of service will be two years, from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2027. The office will be located in Seocho-dong.

Applications can be submitted either by registered mail or in person to the Criminal Support Review Office of the Court Administration Office from July 14 to July 17, 2025.
