Kim Kyunghee Emphasizes, "Records Are the City's Asset... We Will Write Them Together With Citizens"
The city of Icheon in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 7th that it held an unveiling ceremony for the 'Icheon Municipal Archives' on the first floor of City Hall on the 4th, officially declaring 'Icheon, a Premium Record City'.

The unveiling ceremony was organized to commemorate the third anniversary of the 8th popularly elected administration and the launch of the archives. The event was attended by around 50 people, including Mayor Kim Kyunghee of Icheon, city council members, private record donors, and officials from affiliated record offices.
The archives will not only systematically preserve records but also offer various record welfare services, including the collection of private records, the development of record culture content, and the operation of a citizen record school.
At the unveiling ceremony, the city also announced five key visions for realizing 'Icheon, a Premium Record City'. The five visions announced were: ▲Icheon as a city of record heritage cultivated by both the city and its citizens ▲A city of citizen records where residents' lives are remembered through public participation ▲A city of record education providing customized record education for everyone ▲A city of record communication strengthening intergenerational dialogue and regional cohesion through records ▲A city of record culture welfare where emotional richness is enjoyed through record activities.
In her commemorative address, Mayor Kim Kyunghee stated, "Records are the foundation of administration and a future asset for the city," and added, "We will support the archives so that it can become a public archive that embraces the lives and memories of our citizens."
