Fried Dumplings for 2,000 Won, Tangsuyuk for 5,000 Won: Unbeatable Prices
"It's a Price That's Hard to Believe Even When You See It"... Goes Viral Online

As dining-out prices continue to soar day by day, putting increasing pressure on household budgets, a restaurant selling a bowl of Jjajangmyeon for just 1,000 won has appeared, drawing widespread attention. Online users expressed their astonishment, saying, "It's a price that's hard to believe even when you see it."

On July 7, various online communities and social networking services (SNS) were flooded with reviews of a Chinese restaurant in Daegu that opened on July 1. The restaurant has quickly gained explosive attention online for its "ultra-low prices," spreading rapidly by word of mouth.

Jjajangmyeon for 1,000 Won, Tangsuyuk for 5,000 Won... "Is That Price for Real?" Chinese Restaurant Causes a Stir A restaurant selling a bowl of Jjajangmyeon for only 1,000 won has opened in downtown Daegu, attracting attention. YouTube channel 'Shanipapa'

Located in the underground shopping mall near Banwoldang Station, the transfer station for Daegu Subway Lines 1·2, the restaurant sells a bowl of Jjajangmyeon for 1,000 won, fried dumplings for 2,000 won, and a small portion of Tangsuyuk for 5,000 won. A double serving of Jjajangmyeon is 2,000 won, and the king-size double serving is 3,000 won. The fried dumplings are served eight pieces per order for 2,000 won.

YouTuber Shanipapa, who visited the restaurant on its opening day, said, "I can't believe it even after seeing it with my own eyes," and added, "All the restaurants currently introduced as 'the cheapest Chinese restaurant' on YouTube and other SNS need to update their information." He went on to say, "Even instant Jjajang ramen costs more than 1,000 won these days, but if I were to describe the taste of this 1,000-won Jjajangmyeon, it's delicious." He also commented, "The double serving is really generous in portion. The flavor is not overly strong, so even elderly people can enjoy it comfortably," and added, "Somehow, both local seniors and students have all found out about this place."

As the video went viral, the restaurant owner personally shared his thoughts in the comments. He said, "I've been selling it for 1,000 won since 20 years ago. I'm not just a merchant, I'm a businessman," and added, "Without any big ambitions, I'll just work hard. Thank you for your support." It is known that the owner also appeared on a TV program nine years ago for his "1,000-won Jjajangmyeon." At that time, he left a strong impression on viewers by saying, "As long as customers keep coming and I have the strength, I'll keep this price for as long as I can." However, you can't just walk in at any time and expect to get the 1,000-won Jjajangmyeon. The restaurant operates only until ingredients run out, opening at 10 a.m. and usually closing for the day around 1 p.m.

Upon hearing the news of the "1,000-won Jjajangmyeon restaurant" opening, online users responded enthusiastically with comments such as, "1,000 won in today's economy? That's not business, that's service," "I tried it, and the taste was definitely not what you'd expect for 1,000 won. It was really delicious," "I feel almost guilty after paying the bill," "Why aren't there places like this in my neighborhood?" "I'm worried the owner might overwork himself," and "An amazing person. I support you." However, there were also some critical responses, such as, "All the neighboring businesses will go under," and "Shouldn't there be at least some price adjustment?"
