The University Job Plus Center at Jeonju University (President Park Jinbae) operated the "Graduate Job-Seeking Stress Group Counseling" program on July 5 at Jeonbuk Mechanical Technical High School, targeting more than 10 high school graduates in the province.

According to Jeonju University on July 7, this program was promoted as part of a "business agreement for career planning and employment competency enhancement for unemployed graduates" signed between the University Job Plus Center at Jeonju University and the Graduate Employment Support Center at Jeonbuk Mechanical Technical High School.

Taking the agreement as an opportunity, the two institutions are strengthening a continuous cooperation system to promote practical youth employment for graduates. The group counseling program was designed with the main goals of alleviating job-seeking stress through self-understanding based on a vocational card psychological test, fostering empathy and social support among peers, and enhancing motivation and establishing career action plans.

Participants took individual vocational card psychological tests and, based on the results, interpreted stress by type and participated in group counseling. They spent time relieving stress arising in the job-seeking process and clarifying their career direction according to their own types.

A young participant in the program said, "It was a great comfort to be able to share my employment concerns with peers instead of worrying alone. I found it fascinating to learn through the psychological test that employment concerns differ depending on one's interest type, and it was very helpful to discover job preparation methods that suit me."

Shin Sukkyung, head of the University Job Plus Center at Jeonju University, stated, "I hope this program has provided practical help for young people who feel lost and stressed while preparing for employment after graduation to better understand themselves and set a direction that suits them. We will continue to expand customized programs to support the psychological recovery and job-seeking competency of graduates in cooperation with local related organizations."

Meanwhile, Jeonju University is further strengthening its ties with the local community by implementing various support measures to help local youth establish stable roots in the region and design their own futures.

To this end, the university is currently accelerating preparations for official designation as a Glocal University, aiming for new growth in which the university and the region develop together, and ultimately preparing to contribute to national development as well.
