Chonnam National University Hospital announced on July 7 that the Gwangju Regional Disabled Health and Medical Center, which it operates by commission, and Seoyoung University have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to improve the health rights of people with disabilities, strengthen community linkage, and cooperate in the education of prospective health care professionals.
The signing ceremony, held recently at the conference room of the Research Building at Chonnam National University Hospital, was attended by Choi Inseong, Director of the Center, Yoon Sunho, Director of Industry-Academic Cooperation at Seoyoung University, and officials from both institutions. Through this agreement, the two institutions have agreed to cooperate in a variety of areas, including: joint development and operation of health-related educational programs for people with disabilities; strengthening education on the health rights of people with disabilities and field-linked programs for prospective health care professionals; and carrying out joint projects to promote the health of people with disabilities.
After the signing ceremony, participants exchanged opinions on practical measures for strengthening the health rights of people with disabilities, establishing a community-based health support system, and expanding educational linkages to foster health care talent.
Choi Inseong, Director of the Center, stated, "This agreement is significant in establishing a foundation for education, joint program operation, and linkage to improve the health rights of people with disabilities in the local community," and added, "We will continue to create an environment where prospective health care professionals can understand and actively practice the health rights of people with disabilities."
