Changwon Special City to Hold First-Ever Public Recruitment for Jinhae Gunhangje Festival Organizer

A New Attempt to Advance the Gunhangje Festival
and Enhance Its Competitiveness

Changwon Special City in South Gyeongsang Province will hold a public recruitment for the organizer of the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival, the city's representative festival, for the first time in the festival's history to ensure its successful hosting.

This open call is based on the revised “Changwon City Ordinance on the Promotion and Support of Festivals,” which was amended on December 30, 2024. It is significant in that it enables the festival to be operated through a fairer and more transparent process.

Eligible applicants are non-profit organizations based in the South Gyeongsang region that have experience organizing or operating local festivals or cultural events. Applications can be submitted in person or by mail from July 16 to July 18.

The organization selected through expert evaluation and deliberation by the Changwon City Festival Committee will be responsible for the overall preparation and execution of the 64th Jinhae Gunhangje Festival from August 2025 to June 2026.

The city expects that this public recruitment will foster healthy competition among outstanding organizations in South Gyeongsang Province, further enhancing the competitiveness and development of the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival.
