Promoting a Familiar Image of Traditional Markets
and Boosting Consumption
Sacheon City in South Gyeongsang Province announced that, as of the first half of this year, approximately 1,730 people participated in the "Visit Traditional Markets" event at eight markets, contributing to the revitalization of traditional markets.
According to the city on July 7, the "Visit Traditional Markets" event, which was previously held only during the Seol and Chuseok holidays, has been expanded to take place once a month, with all city departments participating by using traditional markets. This initiative is helping to create a more familiar image of traditional markets and is also promoting consumption.
An official from Sacheon City stated, "We urge many citizens to use traditional markets to support those struggling due to changes in consumption patterns and the economic downturn. The city will also do its utmost to revitalize traditional markets."
Meanwhile, in January, Sacheon City conducted the "Visit Traditional Markets Campaign with Related Organizations" for the Seol holiday, making efforts to spread the use of traditional markets throughout the local community.
