According to the city on July 7, the Maze Fountain Water Playground was installed as part of the 'Jeongeupcheon Tourism Hot Place Development Project,' which was promoted last year as a pledge project of the 8th popularly elected administration.
This facility is a complex ground fountain that features a water play fountain, a musical fountain, and a mirror pond, making it a new summer attraction in the city center that is drawing high expectations.
The playground will officially operate from July 19 to August 17, and will be closed every Monday and on rainy days. Before the official opening, the city plans to conduct two trial runs on July 5-6 and July 12-13 to inspect the facility and ensure operational stability.
The facility will be open daily from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Water play will be available for 40 minutes every hour, followed by a 20-minute break. The musical fountain will not operate during the official opening period.
To ensure the safety and convenience of visitors, the city will deploy relevant officials and safety personnel, and will install temporary shade structures, changing rooms, and portable restrooms. Through these measures, the city aims to provide a pleasant environment and prevent safety accidents.
Mayor Lee Haksoo stated, "The Maze Fountain will serve as an urban summer retreat where both citizens and tourists can cool off and enjoy themselves during the hot summer months," adding, "It is also expected to contribute to revitalizing tourism centered around Jeongeupcheon."
