Official Launch in Pharmacies Following MFDS Approval as an Over-the-Counter Drug
The Japanese product 'Roihitsuboko,' widely known as 'Coin Patch,' will be officially launched in Korea.
On July 7, Ildong Pharmaceutical announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with Nichiban of Japan and will exclusively supply 'Roihitsuboko Coinplaster' to the domestic pharmacy market starting this month.
Roihitsuboko is an over-the-counter patch-type medication with anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and sedative effects. It is characterized by its beige, round appearance and distinctive hot and refreshing sensation upon use. The product contains active ingredients such as methyl salicylate, which reduces inflammation and relieves pain; L-menthol and dl-camphor, which provide analgesic effects and promote blood circulation; and nonyl vanillylamide, which stimulates warmth and further enhances blood circulation. These ingredients deliver pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects for symptoms such as joint pain, muscle pain, stiff shoulders, lower back pain, bruises, sprains, bone pain, and frostbite.
To maintain adhesion and reduce skin irritation, the product uses a special fabric and adhesive developed with proprietary technology, allowing users to easily and locally apply the patch to key areas with prominent pain and inflammation, such as around joints or on sore, stiff muscles.
An Ildong Pharmaceutical representative stated, "By supplying a domestically approved product authorized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, we are expanding consumer convenience and choice." The representative also added, "We plan to conduct various new product marketing activities leveraging the brand recognition of Roihitsuboko, focusing on the pharmacy sector."
