Aero K Nears 3 Million International Passengers Just Two Years After Launching Overseas Routes

Cheongju International Airport-Based LCC Accelerates Growth
New Routes to Hiroshima and Kitakyushu Announced

Aero K Airlines announced on July 7 that it is on track to reach a cumulative total of 3 million international passengers, just two years after launching its international routes. This achievement comes exactly two years after the airline first opened its Cheongju-Osaka route on July 6, 2023.

Aero K entered the domestic low-cost carrier (LCC) market in 2021 with its Jeju route. Since 2023, the airline has aggressively expanded its international network, not only to major Japanese cities such as Osaka, but also to destinations in China, Mongolia, and Southeast Asia.

Currently, Aero K operates 14 routes from its Cheongju hub with a fleet of seven aircraft. In the second half of this year, the airline plans to launch new routes to Hiroshima (July 16) and Kitakyushu (September 30) in Japan.

Aero K will add two more aircraft to its fleet this year and sequentially open new routes to major Asian cities such as Weihai, Yantai, Okinawa, Nha Trang, Cebu, and Macau.

An Aero K representative stated, "Reaching 3 million passengers is the result of our customers' continued support and the dedicated efforts of our employees," adding, "We will continue to prioritize safety and provide the best travel experience through reasonable fares and a diverse range of routes."

Aero K expects to welcome its 3 millionth passenger around July 15 and is preparing a special event to commemorate the milestone. As the leading airline at Cheongju International Airport, Aero K plans to further expand its network from Cheongju, contributing to the activation of the regional airport and the development of the domestic aviation industry.
