Ulleungdo Squid and Byeongpungdo Cockscomb Flower Festivals
Combining Island Travel and Festivals to Enhance the Value of Travel
This special exhibition features more than 40 package tour products, allowing travelers to enjoy major domestic island destinations such as Hongdo/Heuksando, Ulleungdo, Baengnyeongdo/Daecheongdo, and islands along the southern coast, as well as representative island festivals. A key feature of these packages is the opportunity to experience unique island village cultures and local specialties that are typically hard to access, all while enjoying the region's distinctive festivals.
Additionally, a time sale will be held, offering the 2-night, 3-day Hongdo/Heuksando package and various other island travel products at reasonable prices. In August, HanaTour plans to broadcast an Ulleungdo package that includes a free tour of Dokdo via its live commerce channel, HanaLIVE.
Travel packages have been prepared to coincide with island festivals such as the Hongdo Daylily Flower Festival (July 4-13), Geomundo/Baekdo Sea Experience Event (August 1-2), Ulleungdo Squid Festival (August 4-6), Hansando Hansan Battle Festival (August 9-14), Byeongpungdo Cockscomb Flower Festival (October 3-12), and the Hongdo Rockfish Festival (scheduled for October).
The flagship product, the [KTX] Tongyeong/Geoje 3-day Oedo and Hansando package, begins with a visit to the exotic Oedo Marine Park in Geoje and continues on the second day with a trip to Hansando to enjoy the Hansan Battle Festival. This regional festival commemorates Admiral Yi Sun-sin's victory in the Hansan Battle and features historical reenactments, exhibitions, and a variety of hands-on activities.
The [Mukho Port/Dokdo Included] Ulleungdo 3-day Overland Tour includes both A and B overland courses and a visit to Dokdo, with the opportunity to participate in the Squid Festival held around Jeodong Port in Ulleungdo. Visitors can enjoy local cuisine centered on Ulleungdo's specialty, squid, and take part in events such as a squid barehanded catching contest.
A HanaTour representative stated, "We have developed these products to provide meaningful support for revitalizing island tourism and to offer travelers unique experiences by linking island festivals with travel packages. Moving forward, we will continue to diversify our offerings so that travelers can discover the hidden charms of domestic islands, while also enhancing the value of island travel through partnerships with local communities."
