GS Caltex has strengthened its digital-based gas station innovation by ranking first in the National Customer Satisfaction Index (NCSI) for the 17th consecutive year.
GS Caltex announced on July 7 that it was selected as the top company in the gas station sector in the National Customer Satisfaction Survey conducted by the Korea Productivity Center. The National Customer Satisfaction Index is a customer satisfaction measurement index developed by the Korea Productivity Center in collaboration with the University of Michigan in the United States, with the aim of enhancing the quality competitiveness of companies, industries, and the nation, as well as improving the quality of life for citizens.

In this year's survey, GS Caltex was recognized for its efforts to listen to customer feedback in real time and promptly reflect it, utilizing its mobile app 'Energy Plus' among other tools. The company received high marks for providing new fueling experiences and benefits that customers could tangibly feel, and has now maintained the number one position in the gas station sector for 17 consecutive years.
In 2021, GS Caltex launched the Energy Plus app to enhance convenience for fueling customers, and has since introduced new fueling methods and benefits. In particular, the 'Baro Juyou' (Instant Refueling) feature allows customers to pre-register their preferred fuel type, fueling amount, and payment method in the app, enabling them to complete fueling and payment quickly at the gas station simply by scanning a barcode or entering a password.
This year, a dedicated app development and operations team has been addressing customer requests in real time, resolving fueling-related inquiries and inconveniences, and adding three new features to further improve user convenience.
First, GS Caltex became the first domestic refiner to introduce vehicle-linked services such as 'Car Play' and 'Android Auto,' which allow users to search for gas stations, use the instant refueling feature, and check coupons and points directly through their car display. In addition, a new feature was introduced that enables instant refueling simply by shaking the smartphone. Furthermore, the home screen widget was completely revamped so that users can access key functions with a single widget touch, even without launching the app.
Meanwhile, since 2020, GS Caltex has introduced various easy payment methods. In addition to Kakao Pay, Naver Pay, Payco, and Zero Pay, the company adopted Apple's electronic payment service in 2023. In the second half of this year, GS Caltex plans to develop and implement an 'integrated payment self-service fuel dispenser terminal' to make easy payments even more accessible at self-service gas stations.
Kim Changsoo, Executive Vice President of the Mobility and Marketing Division at GS Caltex, said, "We will continue to discover and improve services so that customers visiting GS Caltex gas stations can have innovative experiences, in line with changes in energy consumption patterns and customer lifestyles."
