Kim Byunggi Urges Swift Execution of Supplementary Budget, Citing Urgent Issues Like Price Stabilization and Heat Wave Measures

Kim Byunggi, Acting Leader and Floor Leader of the Democratic Party, called on the government on July 6 to swiftly execute the supplementary budget.

At the first High-Level Party-Government Consultation held at the Prime Minister’s Official Residence in Samcheong-dong, Seoul on this day, Acting Leader Kim stated, "There are numerous urgent tasks ahead, including the execution of the supplementary budget, price stabilization, and measures against the heat wave."

He said, "In order to effectively boost consumption and support incomes, the livelihood recovery consumption coupons must be distributed before the main vacation season begins. Once again, I urge the prompt execution of the supplementary budget."

He also emphasized, "Measures to address rising prices are urgently needed. Public concern is growing due to food prices. I ask that you closely monitor price trends and swiftly devise and implement countermeasures."

Acting Leader Kim continued, "As the President has said, we must establish and implement countermeasures for the rainy season and heat wave effectively. Please review overlapping administrative budgets and ensure that resources and personnel are allocated in a timely manner to areas where they are truly needed."

He further stressed, "We must provide adequate support to low-income and vulnerable groups who are at risk from the heat wave. It is also necessary for relevant agencies to supervise and ensure that rest time for on-site and mobile workers is properly guaranteed."

Acting Leader Kim pledged, "The party, the presidential office, and the government are a community of shared destiny and must become one team. The party will provide strong support to both the government and the presidential office."
