KOTRA announced on the 7th (Korea time) that it held "Korea Business Day" during the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair on the 4th (local time), introducing consumer products from 25 Korean companies to the local market.
This event was organized in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Tanzania, the World-OKTA (World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Associations), and the National Unification Advisory Council.

At the venue, consumer goods exhibitions and export consultations were held, centered around the Korea Pavilion, with participation from five Tanzanian partner companies. In addition, various programs were offered to experience Korean culture, including K-pop performances, fusion hanbok experiences, and food tasting events. Although the number of pre-registered participants was 100, the actual visitor count exceeded 500.
On the same day, the Korean NGO "The Better World" introduced biogas cooking technology utilizing organic waste, drawing attention as a case of sustainable energy use in Tanzania. The World-OKTA officially launched its local chapter and began full-scale activities.
Tanzania is the first African country with which the Korean government has initiated negotiations for an Economic Partnership Agreement, and it is also the largest recipient of official development assistance from Korea in Africa. The country is also rich in undeveloped mineral resources, further increasing its importance as a base for Korean companies' expansion.
Jang Choongsik, Head of KOTRA's Africa Regional Headquarters, said, "We hope that this event will serve as an opportunity for both countries to develop a sustainable partnership."
