Two Manually Selected First-Prize Tickets Sold at One Outlet Among Six Winners
Recent Surge in Cases of Multiple Manual Lotto Wins at Single Locations
Recently, two manually selected first-prize Lotto tickets were sold at a lottery outlet in Seo-gu, Incheon, drawing public attention. If both tickets were purchased by the same person, the total prize money would amount to 4.3 billion won.
According to Donghaeng Lottery on July 6, the winning numbers for the 1,179th Lotto draw were '3, 16, 18, 24, 40, 44'. The bonus number was '21'.

In this round, a total of 13 people matched all six numbers and won the first prize. Each winner will receive 2,162,820,000 won. Among them, six winners selected their numbers manually, and two of these tickets were sold at the same outlet in Seo-gu, Incheon. It is common for manual buyers to purchase multiple tickets with the same numbers, so it is possible that the same person won more than once.
The second prize, awarded to those who matched five numbers plus the bonus number, went to 63 people, each receiving about 74,380,000 won. For the third prize, 2,989 people matched five numbers and will receive 1,560,000 won each. The fourth prize, for matching four numbers, went to 148,832 people, each receiving 50,000 won. For the fifth prize, 2.51 million people matched three numbers and will receive a fixed prize of 5,000 won each.
Winners can claim their prize money within one year from the first business day after the draw. If the deadline falls on a public holiday, it is extended to the next business day.
There have been previous cases where multiple manually selected winning tickets were sold at a single location. On June 14, four first-prize winners emerged from a lottery outlet in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province. If all four tickets were purchased by the same person, the total prize would exceed 8.2 billion won. On June 1, three manually selected first-prize tickets were sold at a single outlet in Ulsan, and if the same person bought all three, the prize would be over 5.7 billion won. In April, five first-prize winners all with manually selected tickets emerged from a lottery outlet in Yongsan; if all tickets belonged to the same person, the total prize would exceed 10 billion won.
Among Lotto enthusiasts, the strategy of purchasing multiple tickets with the same numbers appears to be effective for some. In the 1,003rd draw in 2022, five manually selected first-prize tickets were sold at one outlet, and the following day, a photo titled '9 billion won Lotto proof' was posted on an online community as evidence.
