President Kang Visits Gyeongju City Hall and Preparation Support Group
Task Force Launched to Host Consecutive Events in the Second Half of the Year
The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) has officially begun preparations for events linked to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in the second half of this year.
KOTRA announced on the 6th that President Kang Kyungseong visited Gyeongju City Hall and the APEC Preparation Support Group on the 4th to inspect the event sites and check the progress of preparations.

President Kang met with Joo Nakyoung, Mayor of Gyeongju, to discuss cooperation measures, and also toured the exhibition site and event venues within the Gyeongju Bomun Complex. KOTRA is utilizing 131 overseas trade offices in 85 countries to facilitate visits by companies from APEC member economies to Korea and to arrange customized consultations for domestic companies.
In addition, KOTRA plans to maximize economic impact by linking the 'Invest Korea Summit' (October 28-31, Seoul), an event to attract foreign investment, with the large-scale export consultation event 'Boom Up Korea Week' (October 21-November 7, nationwide).
In the second half of the year, KOTRA will consecutively host three events in Gyeongju: the Korea-APEC Business Partnership (September 24-25), the APEC Member Economies and Gyeongbuk Investment Forum (October 16-17), and the Advanced Future Industries Pavilion within the APEC Economic Exhibition Hall (between October and November).
President Kang stated, "Based on the linked events held in Gyeongju, we will strive to promote the local economy as well as trade and investment."
