CJ Logistics Launches Disabled Sports Team: "A Warm Journey Together Through Sports"

Business Agreement Signed with Seoul Metropolitan Disabled Sports Association
21 Athletes with Various Disabilities Hired Across 10 Sports

On July 6, CJ Logistics announced the establishment of a disabled sports team and its commitment to supporting the expansion of social participation and the promotion of sports for people with disabilities.

On July 3, CJ Logistics held a signing ceremony for a business agreement to promote disabled sports with the Seoul Metropolitan Disabled Sports Association at the association's conference room in Songpa-gu, Seoul, and conducted the inauguration ceremony for the disabled sports team. The event was attended by Yoon Jin, Head of CJ Logistics Korea Business Division, Kim Yuseung, Head of Human Resources Support, Jung Heeyoung, Vice President of the Seoul Metropolitan Disabled Sports Association, Hong Sunghoon, Head of the Seoul Regional Headquarters of the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled, as well as about 30 disabled athletes and their guardians.


CJ Logistics will officially hire 21 disabled athletes across 10 sports: deaf football, goalball, wheelchair rugby, cycling, snowboarding, billiards, shooting, alpine skiing, blind football, and basketball. These athletes will compete as members of CJ Logistics in national and international disabled sports competitions. CJ Logistics plans to recognize athletes' training as working hours and provide salaries, enabling them to focus on their training in a stable environment.


During the inauguration ceremony that followed the agreement signing, the newly joined athletes received official uniforms, employee ID cards, and commemorative gifts. National snowboarder Jung Sumin said, "Wearing the CJ Logistics uniform gives me a special sense of responsibility as an employee," and added, "As an athlete representing both the company and the country, I will train with pride and strive to deliver excellent results."


CJ Logistics plans to continuously expand the size of its disabled sports team to support disabled athletes in becoming independent and proactive members of society.


Yoon stated, "It is a company's social responsibility to support every member of society in achieving their dreams," and added, "As a leading logistics company in Korea, we will further expand our activities to create social value with a strong sense of responsibility."
