Gangnam-gu Offers 1.5 Million Won Employment Incentive to Small Businesses Hiring New Employees

Support Provided for Maintaining Employment for Over 3 Months
Up to Two Employees Per Business Eligible for Application

Gangnam-gu in Seoul will provide an employment incentive of 1.5 million won per worker to small business owners who hire new employees, in order to ease the labor cost burden for small businesses struggling due to the economic downturn and to revitalize local employment.

Gangnam-gu Offers 1.5 Million Won Employment Incentive to Small Businesses Hiring New Employees Provided by Gangnam-gu.

This program applies to small business owners located in Gangnam-gu who hire new employees between July 7 and August 31 and maintain employment for at least three months from the hiring date. Each business can apply for up to two employees. Eligible employers must pay at least the minimum wage and offer a minimum of 15 working hours per week.


The program supports a total of 200 employees, and applications may close early if the budget is exhausted. Small business owners who wish to participate are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Applications can be submitted from July 7 to August 8, either in person at the Gangnam-gu Job Support Center or by email.


Applications for the employment incentive payment can be made between November and December, after maintaining employment for three months. Payment will be made after verifying the maintenance of employment insurance and reviewing the eligibility of the submitted documents.

Gangnam-gu Mayor Cho Sungmyung stated, "This employment incentive expands support, which was previously limited to small and medium-sized enterprises, to small business owners as well. Especially in Gangnam, where business costs are high, direct support for labor costs is expected to provide substantial help in stabilizing business operations."
