A man was arrested by police after attacking his mother with a weapon at the hair salon she operates, injuring her.
On July 5, Changwon Jungbu Police Station in Gyeongnam announced that they had apprehended and were investigating a man in his 20s, identified as Mr. A.
According to police, at around noon that day, Mr. A allegedly stabbed his mother, Ms. B, who is in her 60s, multiple times with a weapon at a hair salon in Seongsan-gu, Changwon, causing her injuries.
Ms. B sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital, where her condition was reported to be critical.
A man and a woman who were inside the salon at the time also suffered injuries to their hands and arms from the weapon wielded by Mr. A.
The hair salon where the incident occurred is operated by Ms. B and was open for business at the time of the attack.
Police, responding to a report, arrested Mr. A at the scene at approximately 12:15 p.m. that day.
Police are investigating Mr. A to determine the motive for the crime and the exact circumstances of the incident, and plan to consider additional charges, including attempted parricide.
