The heatwave will continue on Saturday, July 5.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, morning lows are forecast to range from 21 to 28 degrees Celsius, while daytime highs are expected to reach between 29 and 36 degrees Celsius.
Daytime highs are forecast to be 31 degrees in Seoul, 30 degrees in Incheon, 36 degrees in Gangneung, Daegu, and Ulsan, 33 degrees in Daejeon, Busan, and Gwangju, and 32 degrees in Sejong.
Skies will be mostly cloudy in central regions, while the southern regions and Jeju Island will see partly cloudy conditions at times.
In northeastern Gyeonggi Province and the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province, occasional rain is expected until the morning.
Expected precipitation amounts are 5 to 20 millimeters in the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province, 5 to 10 millimeters in northeastern Gyeonggi Province, and around 5 millimeters in the five West Sea islands.
Fine dust concentrations will remain at 'good' to 'moderate' levels nationwide, thanks to smooth atmospheric dispersion.
Wave heights are expected to range from 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the East Sea and South Sea coastal waters, and from 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the West Sea coastal waters.
