Gyeongnam Governor Park Wansu Holds 'Provincial Residents Win-Win Talk' in Namhae ... "Actively Reflecting On-Site Voices"

On July 4, Park Wansu, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, visited residents of Namhae County to listen to their voices on-site and reaffirmed his commitment to communication with the provincial residents.


At the '7th Provincial Residents Win-Win Talk' held at the Namhae National Sports Center that day, Governor Park said, "Through continuous investment, Namhae has been emerging as a central tourist destination on the southern coast," and added, "I will continue to reflect the voices of residents heard in the field in provincial administration."

Governor Park stated, "It has taken a little over two years for me to return to this place, and during that time, Namhae has seen many changes, including the groundbreaking of the Namhae-Yeosu Tunnel, the opening of Baraegil Trail, and the designation as a Special Education Development Zone." He evaluated, "In particular, the establishment of high-end accommodations such as Sol Beach Namhae has brought significant progress to the tourism industry."


He continued, "Over the past three years, Namhae has laid the foundation for the next 100 years," and added, "Going forward, we will address shortcomings by focusing on livelihood issues that are directly connected to the daily lives of residents."

About 200 Namhae residents, Namhae County Governor Jang Chungnam, and local provincial council members attended the Provincial Residents Win-Win Talk to discuss local issues and policy improvement measures.


Participants proposed expanding support for automation facilities and equipment in the aquaculture industry, enacting a special law to support residents in areas surrounding Yeosu-Gwangyang National Industrial Complex, and easing eligibility requirements for crop disaster insurance.


They also shared opinions on supporting the modernization of dormitories at Namhae Provincial College, preparing measures to revitalize local commercial districts, improving the operation of communal meals during the busy farming season, and supporting the construction of a bypass road at Songjeong Tourist Site.

Governor Park said, "The valuable opinions shared today will be thoroughly reviewed and reflected in provincial administration," and added, "In the remaining year of the 8th popularly elected term, I will communicate even more actively on-site."


Gyeongnam Province is conducting the 'Provincial Residents Win-Win Talk,' in which the governor personally visits cities and counties to listen to residents' opinions and reflect them in provincial administration.


So far, the talks have been held in seven cities and counties?Goseong, Uiryeong, Hamyang, Tongyeong, Sancheong, Changnyeong, and Namhae?and are planned to continue throughout the entire province.
