According to ANSA news agency, at around 8 a.m. local time on July 4, a truck crashed into fuel equipment at a gas station in the Prenestino district in eastern Rome, causing a fire. Firefighters, police, and emergency personnel rushed to the scene, and the damage was exacerbated when a series of explosions occurred shortly after rescue teams arrived.


As of now, 21 people have been transported to the hospital as a result of the accident. Most of those injured are believed to be rescue workers, including firefighters and police officers. Some pedestrians passing by the scene were also injured, but there have been no reported fatalities.
