Acting Commissioner Yu inspected the Gungpyeong 2 Underpass, reviewing facilities such as vehicle entry barriers and emergency evacuation systems.
He emphasized thorough disaster management, stating, "The Osong underpass disaster is one of the incidents that prompted reflection and change within our police force."
Yu instructed, "Although the Korea Meteorological Administration has announced the end of the monsoon season in the southern regions and Jeju, heavy rainfall is still forecasted for the central region. Therefore, until the monsoon season is completely over, we must actively cooperate with local governments and other related agencies, and maintain a state of readiness to respond immediately in the event of a disaster."
