Applications Accepted from July 14 to 21
Gimpo City in Gyeonggi Province announced on July 4 that it will be accepting applications from July 14 to July 21, 2025, for 33 households to move into the existing rental housing program operated by Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH).
The existing rental housing program allows individuals selected as tenants to search for a rental home within a designated support limit. LH then signs a lease contract with the owner of the selected property and subleases it to the tenant. This system is designed to help low-income households maintain stable housing within their current communities.
Eligible applicants are members of households registered in Gimpo City as of the announcement date (June 30, 2025) who do not own a home and qualify as first-priority applicants.
First-priority applicants include: recipients of basic livelihood or medical benefits; single-parent families under protection; households in urgent need of housing support (those among benefit recipients or the near-poor whose rent exceeds 30% of their income); persons with disabilities (those whose household monthly income is 70% or less of the previous year’s average urban worker household income and who meet the asset criteria for permanent rental housing); and seniors (those aged 65 or older among benefit recipients or the near-poor).
The support limit per household in the Seoul metropolitan area is 130 million won. Tenants are required to pay a security deposit equivalent to 2?5% of the rental deposit within the support limit and pay monthly rent that includes 1.2?2.2% interest on the remaining amount. The lease term is two years, and tenants may renew their lease up to 14 times if they continue to meet the eligibility requirements, allowing for a maximum stay of up to 30 years.
Applications can be submitted at the administrative welfare center of the applicant’s registered address. For more details, applicants can refer to the recruitment announcement on the LH Cheongyak Plus website or the Gimpo City Hall website.
