Hana Insurance Secures Exclusive Rights for Attorney Fee Coverage Rider for School Staff in Criminal Cases

This rider provides coverage for attorney retainer fees if a school staff member becomes involved in a criminal case related to child abuse. If the staff member is found not guilty, the company will cover legal expenses, including attorney fees, up to 5 million KRW per case.

A representative from Hana Insurance stated, "This product is designed to alleviate the psychological and financial anxiety of school staff who face difficult situations due to false accusations or excessive reporting," adding, "We hope it will help protect teachers' rights."

Meanwhile, Hana Insurance was launched in 2003 as Kyowonnara Automobile Insurance, a company wholly owned by the Korea Teachers’ Credit Union. In 2009, it changed its name to The-K Non-life Insurance and has since focused on providing insurance products and services primarily for school staff. After becoming a subsidiary of Hana Financial Group in 2020, it has continued to offer a variety of products and services for educators.
