Genian, a cybersecurity specialist company, announced on July 4 that it successfully concluded its participation in "CYDES 2025," held from July 1 to July 3 at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) in Malaysia, and is continuing its strategic efforts to expand into the public sector market in the Asia-Pacific region.
CYDES is a cybersecurity event organized by Malaysia's National Security Council (NSC). It has established itself as a central platform for cybersecurity cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, providing a venue for discussions on cybersecurity strategies and compliance trends.
Putrajaya, the host city, is Malaysia's administrative capital, where government agencies are concentrated, and is similar in character to Sejong City in Korea. The event was attended by a large number of IT leaders from local public institutions. Among Korean companies, Genian was the only participant, drawing significant attention.
At the event, Genian showcased its key security solutions, including NAC (Network Access Control), ZTNA (Zero Trust Network Access), and EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response). The company held numerous on-site meetings and technical consultations with IT officials from major public institutions in Putrajaya. Interest was observed not only in NAC but also in EDR. Genian took the opportunity to listen to the requirements of local institutions and to closely assess actual market needs and the status of competing vendors.
Genian has been expanding its global presence, focusing on the US and Middle East markets, while also regarding the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region as a strategic area of long-term investment. Since entering the APAC market in 2018, Genian has secured a diverse customer base across public, financial, and private sectors in countries such as Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The company has built technical credibility and references through numerous clients, including 77 branches of a Thai energy public institution.
Genian has consistently conducted roadshows, collaborated with local partners, and engaged in joint marketing activities within the Asia-Pacific region to enhance product accessibility and brand awareness. The overseas business team has been reorganized into a global business division, and its roles have been clearly separated from the US subsidiary, allowing for simultaneous, region-specific market strategies in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa. Currently, Genian has approximately 150 global clients, with 20% of them located in the Asia-Pacific region.
Naseil, Executive Director of Genian's Global Business Division, stated, "Our recent achievements in the Middle East have attracted attention," adding, "The Asia-Pacific region has also been a key market that Genian has focused on from early on." He continued, "This event provided a valuable opportunity to identify various avenues for supplying our products," and emphasized, "Building on this, we will establish long-term strategies and continue to expand our ecosystem centered on the Asia-Pacific region."
