The Sejong City Office of Education announced that it held the launch ceremony for the Sejong-Style Agreement-Based Specialized High School at the Courtyard by Marriott Sejong Hotel on July 4.

The Sejong-Style Agreement-Based Specialized High School is being operated as part of the Education Development Special Zone Project from this year through 2028, targeting Sejong Mirae High School and Sejong Jang Youngsil High School, both specialized high schools in the region. This project jointly develops and operates field-linked curricula centered on companies and students in collaboration with local industries. It also converts the third-year field training at vocational high schools into a recruitment-commitment model, providing a customized education program for both companies and students.

Until now, vocational high school graduates have faced difficulties in finding jobs due to mismatches between the supply and demand of companies and students. However, the Sejong-Style Agreement-Based Specialized High School is expected to resolve these issues by jointly designing and operating the curriculum and field training with companies, actively reflecting the needs of both sides.

Shin Byungdeok, CEO of G2N Co., Ltd., who participated in the launch ceremony, said, "As a representative of a local company, I am deeply grateful to the Office of Education for its active support in nurturing the workforce needed for local industries."

In response, Superintendent Choi Kyojin stated, "The Sejong-Style Agreement-Based Specialized High School holds great value and significance in fostering locally rooted high school graduates," and added, "We will spare no effort to ensure the continued growth of this program."
