Awarded the Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation
Guro-gu recognized as an outstanding institution for health promotion efforts
On July 4, Guro-gu in Seoul announced that it had been selected as an outstanding institution in the comprehensive category at the 17th Local Government Health Promotion Project Performance Conference, organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare.
On the 3rd, Guro-gu employees received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare and are taking a commemorative photo. Provided by Guro-gu.
This recognition was the result of a comprehensive evaluation of public health centers nationwide, including their 2024 Community Integrated Health Promotion Project plans, outcome reports, and best practices, through which 34 exemplary public health centers were selected.
Guro-gu Public Health Center has implemented various initiatives to improve the district's key performance indicators, such as awareness rates of blood pressure and blood sugar levels, walking practice rate, moderate or higher physical activity rate, and current smoking rate among men. The center has also carried out health management strategies, including resident participation and customized health promotion projects tailored to different life stages.
In addition, continuous communication and cooperation among departments within the health center?such as the Health Administration Division, Health Promotion Division, and Pharmaceutical Division?have strengthened organic connections within the administration. The center has also actively reflected the health needs of local residents to ensure effective project operations.
Furthermore, Guro-gu Public Health Center has provided opportunities for various local opinion-gathering bodies?such as the Healthy Lifestyle Practice Council, Healthy Village Community Resident Organization, Physical Activity Mentors, and Smoking Cessation Guides?to participate in all stages of the project, from planning and operation to evaluation. This has strengthened communication and cooperation not only within the health center but also with the broader local community.
Jang Inhong, Mayor of Guro-gu, stated, "This selection as an outstanding institution is the result of our residents' continued interest and active participation. Moving forward, we will do our utmost to carefully monitor residents' health and achieve tangible health improvements through close cooperation with both internal and external community resources."
